Tirecraft Nearly Doubles Presence in Canada

Tirecraft Canada expanded its network of affiliated dealer locations by nearly 50 percent in the past year, reaching a total of 123 outlets, and the company expects it to grow to 150 by the end of the year.

The majority of Tirecraft stores—about three-fourths—are owned by independent entrepreneurs who decide the direction of the marketing group by what they choose to buy from it. (Tirecraft members pay an upfront fee of $3,500 for membership and commit to buying at least $150,000 worth of goods and services annually from the group.)

One-fourth of Tirecraft stores are corporate owned, meaning they are owned by the four independent dealership chains that own Tirecraft. Those dealerships comprising the Tirecraft partnership are Al’s Tire (also known by its legal name of Barnim Holdings of Burgessville); Kirk’s Tire of Lethbridge, Alberta; Trail Tires Group of Edmonton, Alberta; and Miller Tire Services of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

The group recently opened its 13th warehouse, and each Tirecraft distribution center provides deliveries up to four times a day for member stores. It also has developed a Web-based health and safety program for members, as well as a 24/7 road service program for its trucking fleet members.
