Tire Recycling - Today and Tomorrow

Glenn Maidment, President of The Rubber Association of Canada, is optimistic about the future of tire recycling in Canada. “I have personally never been more optimistic than I am today,” he admits. “Over the last ten years or so we have seen extraordinary markets in the synthetic turf fields, which continue to flourish. Moreover, the mulch business is just beginning to take off on the same trajectory. That’s great news.”

He also believes that one day, we will be able to achieve what today seems impossible. “I think it is inevitable that tire manufacturers will find more opportunity, by necessity, to utilize recycled rubber materials back into new tires. And that my friends, will change everything.”
