Remembering Fernand Desharnais



A well-known figure throughout Quebec’s auto industry, Fernand Desharnais recently passed away in Quebec City. Mr. Desharnais, who was 80 years old, was a particularly prominent figure in the tire and repair and maintenance field, namely, as founder and President of Desharnais, Pneus et Mécanique, which has been in operation for over 60 years. Throughout his career, Mr. Desharnais was acclaimed many times as a Quebec commerce and industry leader, notably as an inductee to the Temple de la renommée du pneu au Québec in 2006.

Mr. Desharnais is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his children, Denis (Paule), Lyne (Philippe), his 4 grandchildren, Claudia, Mélanie, Marika and Roxanne, and his great-grandchild, Victoria.
