Monday, July 06, 2009 Recalls by Bridgestone and Kumho
Both Bridgestone and Kumho are voluntarily recalling tens of thousands of tires for possible safety defects. Bridgestone is recalling more than 127,000 Firestone FR380 size P235/75R15 made in Costa Rica between Sept 9, 2007 and July 2, 2008 because they might show insufficient tread base gauge. This could lead to vibration and even distortion or separation. As for Kumho, it is recalling more than 36,000 Mohave A/T all-terrain light truck tires sizes LT225/75R16, LT245/75R16 and LT265/75R16 manufactured between Dec. 7, 2008 and June 13, 2009. These tires might show rough handling while heavily loaded causing the vehicle to sway and possibly crash, according to Kumho releases.
