Thursday, July 09, 2009 Pirelli will invest $200M in Brazil
Pirelli S.p.A. has announced it will spend $200 million through 2011 at its plants in Brazil in order to expand their capacity of producing car and motorcycle tires by some 20 percent. Pirelli had already invested some $100 million last year in that country where it intends to boost sales by 10 percent in the coming two years. Incidentally, Pirelli has been some 80 years in Brazil. Pirelli sales in South America grew 21 percent from 2005 to 2008 as Brazil’s economy has been less affected and it still offers competitive base for exports.
