Monday, October 24, 2011 Pirelli Joins 2°C Challenge
 Pirelli has signed the “Corporate Leaders’ Group on Climate Change” document, aimed at grouping together the largest British, European and international businesses, united in their conviction that a new long-term policy is indispensable in affronting climate change.
The 2°C Challenge Communiqué invites governments to halt the stall in international negotiations and take the necessary steps at a national level to ensure sustainable growth and a climate-friendly economy.
Pirelli says the company has already adhered to the Cancun Communiqué, as well as the Communiqué of Copenhagen in 2009 and that of Bali in 2007.
The commitments made in this manner by Pirelli translate into tangible objectives, namely a 15% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by the end of 2015 vs. 2009 values.
