Monday, November 09, 2009 Pirelli Introduces Yet Another Tire, the P Zero Trofeo
Italian tire maker Pirelli launched another new tire at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last Wednesday, the P Zero Trofeo. The Trofeo is an asymmetrical performance tire with two wide central ribs, large tread blocks and a pattern derived from asphalt rally applications. The Trofeo, a tire intended for performance cars such as Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martins, BMWs, Subaru Impreza STIs and other fast cars, is like a DOT-approved racing tire. However, Pirelli warns drivers that it is not a tire for street racing, but a tire that will allow a performance driver to get to a track, do some lapping, and come back home without changing tires.
