New TPMS Sensor

From Continental comes a new TPMS sensor… the VDO REDI-Sensor ready to ship in late October, it’s claimed. What is so great about this senor? Well, the universal TPMS sensor is designed to work on almost all vehicle makes and models from 2002-2010, and can be read by all existing scan tools.

Continental demonstrated the sensor's universal functions by installing the same sensor on three vehicles: a 2009 Ford Fusion, a 2010 Chevy Silverado and a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The sensor is road-tested and proven effective in real driving conditions, rather than just certified through lab testing.

The REDI-Sensor will kick off in a 2-phase program… Phase 1 launching at AAPEX in Las Vegas in November. There, Continental will launch the first two sensor models that are equipped to handle more than 90% of Chrysler, Ford and GM models.

Phase 2 is slated for 2011, and aims to launch another two sensor models that will cover more than 90% of European and Asian vehicle makes from 2002-2010.
