 Toyo Tire Canada Inc. announced Mr. Hirao as the new president of their organization, effective immediately. A 23-year veteran of the Toyo Tires group, Mr. Hirao brings with him extensive management experience in both the North American and Japanese markets. He succeeds Mr. Matsuoka, who has led Toyo Tire Canada since the start of 2008.
Mr. Hirao began his career in the tire industry when he joined Toyo Tire Japan in 1987. After 11 years, he transferred to Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. and served as Manager, Price Administration Department and Marketing Coordinator.
In 2003, Mr. Hirao was relocated back to Japan where he was promoted to Manager, Tire Sales Department for North America, and eventually General Manager, Tire Sales Department for North America where he oversaw inventory, production and new product development since 2008.
Mr. Matsuoka will return to Japan and take the position of General Manager, Toyo Tire Overseas Sales Dept, No. 1, where he will supervise the North American market from the company’s Tokyo head office.
