New Passat CC to Ride on Continental Tires

The new ContiSportContact 3 with ContiSeal technology is now being factory-fitted on the new, exclusively equipped Passat CC from Volkswagen. The tire, in size 235/40R18 95 W XL, is approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h. As a sports tire, it provides excellent driving stability and grip up to the stability limits, as well as short braking distances and safety even on wet roads, according to the tire maker.

The ContiSeal system allows a vehicle to continue traveling despite penetration by nails or screws due to a protective layer on the inside of the tire’s tread that immediately seals holes, preventing air from escaping. Almost any leak caused by an object of up to five millimetres in diameter can be sealed, meaning that about 85% of typical flat tires can be covered, Continental said.
