New "Lean" Plant in Farnham

Martins Industries, manufacturer of storage and handling systems and tire display racks, formerly located in St-Alexandre, has moved. The new 40,000 sq. ft. building, located at 1200 boulevard Industriel in Farnham, is also the company’s head office. Its official opening took place last July 6th.

The decision to leave St-Alexandre was taken within a growth perspective, and should allow the plant to triple its production by bringing the production site closer to the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu distribution center.

The production called "lean" refers to the performance through continuous improvement and elimination of waste, of which there are seven categories: excessive production, expectations, transport and handling unnecessary, pointless tasks, inventory, unnecessary motion and defective products.
