Monday, January 25, 2010 Michelin to Invest $1 billion in Chinese Tire Plant
Group Michelin announced last week in Paris that it will invest $1 billion in China for the following two or three years to build a car and truck tire plant in a city called Shenyang. This operation will double the firm’s annual production capacity in the country where it already operates one plant. According to the announcement, production in the new plant would begin in 2012. Michelin’s capacity in China at the two plants could be around 28,000 tires daily. (ED)
