Michelin Back in Formula One?

According to Bloomberg News, chances are that Michelin could return to Formula One racing. Indeed, current tire provider Bridgestone has announced it was pulling out as the sport’s official (and sole) supplier at the end of 2010. Still according to the same news agency, Michelin’s Jean-Dominique Sénard has confirmed that what could be considered “formal discussions” with F-1’s governing body were underway. The last time Michelin was in Formula One was back in 2006. Yet, still according to Bloomberg News, Michelin is considering returning but “only under some very clear conditions.” Indeed, Sénard said that tire rules needed changing to “show the performance they can bring, notably in terms of fuel saving and CO2 reductions.” (ED)
