Wednesday, August 17, 2011 Introducing the New President: Daniel Dubuc
IT specialists who excel in communications are a rare find. Such is the case for ASPMQ’s new president, Daniel Dubuc. And he has ample talents to fulfill his mandate exceptionally well.
From a programmer at CN to a development manager at OK Tires and now a tire centre co-owner, Daniel Dubuc’s career path highlights his desire to serve the industry. In fact, for the past 5 years he has sat on the ASPMQ’s administration advisory board.
As new president, Daniel Dubuc is looking forward to handling those projects that are close to his heart. Besides paying particular attention to representing his fellow members well, Daniel wants to focus on training as a top priority. "Part of our workforce is dedicated to seasonal jobs during certain rush periods. It is essential that we train our people on SSPP systems and on specialized equipment that prevent workplace accidents or injury".
The ASPMQ has played an important role when it comes to providing information about the law for installing winter tires and is closely involved in the 2014 deadline for the ratification and final designations that must be incorporated into the regulations.
Finally, improvements in workplace safety for tire installers and mechanics is a leading priority on the ASPMQ’s ‘to-do’ list. "We must encourage our garages and workshops to actively participate in Auto Prévention activities. Too few take advantage of this excellent program, set up by the CSST."
Mr. President, congratulations on your appointment: it will certainly be a very productive schedule for the ASPMQ.
