Tuesday, July 19, 2011 Guy Girard, an impressive track record serving others
 Upon leaving his hometown of Asbestos in the early 80s, Guy Girard joined Michelin’s distribution centre division. With determination and with a lot of talent, he takes on executive positions in several Canadian cities followed by management work in the US. Michelin depended on his expertise to introduce an inventory logistics system implemented throughout North America.
Not wanting to move to the States, Guy thinks about starting his own business. "I asked myself - what did I know? At Michelin I learnt how to manage and I knew tires. So then and there I decided to buy a business". He buys Centre du Pneu St Constant in 1993, intending to make it grow and prosper. When it comes to sales, he puts the emphasis on tire installation, buys another business in Laprairie, opens a distribution centre in Delson and finally, opens a truck service centre.
"My vision was to create a network of branches in order to expand the distribution business." states Girard. The company now has over 100 employees.
His involvement in the community and in the industry is quite remarkable. As a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the CPA, and the ASPMQ, among others, Guy never misses an opportunity to find time for the industry, the very same that allowed him to grow so successfully.
"What satisfies me most at the end of my career, is knowing that I’ve contributed to the well-being of my family, offering practical and policy improvements that have advanced our industry as well as helping hundreds build their lives by providing employment."
