Goodyear Standard Fitment on 2011 Ford Explorer

Ford Motor Co. has selected Goodyear’s Fortera HL all-season SUV tire as an OE fitment for the 2011 Ford Explorer.

The Fortera HL in size P245/65R17 will be standard fitment for the SE version of the Explorer, which has been completely redesigned and is expected to hit dealer showrooms this winter. The vehicle features a 3.5 litre V6 engine capable of generating 290 horsepower at 6,500 rpm, and also is available in a 2 litre EcoBoost engine that generates 237 hp at 5,500 rpm.

Goodyear’s Fortera HL features staggered circumferential grooves, curvilinear blades and see-through grooves for enhanced forward and lateral traction, according to the tire maker’s website. It includes a 60,000-mile (96,000 km) tread wear warranty and is available in 16 sizes ranging from 17 to 20 inches in diameter.
