Monday, October 12, 2009 Goodyear Recognized Among America’s “Greenest” Big Firms
American tire maker Goodyear was recently recognized by the popular magazine Newsweek as one of the 500 largest corporations among “The Greenest Big Companies in America.” The corporations were measured by revenue, market capitalization, and number of employees. Ironically, Goodyear was the only tire manufacturer to make the listing, and it was ranked No 241. Among the criteria for the evaluation were greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and “green” program all based on factors that included environmental impact, green policies and overall reputation as an environmentally conscientious company, according to Goodyear.
