Four Yokohama Truck Tires Obtain SmartWay Certification

The American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has added four additional Yokohama truck tires to its SmartWay list. Consequently, Yokohama now has seven tires within that category. The four new tires with SmartWay certification are the 101ZL and 103ZR steer tires, the RY587 trailer tire, and the TY517MC2 drive tire. Among their main features is their capability to run cooler, which helps fuel consumption, according to the manufacturer. Incidentally, the 101ZL and the 103ZR steer tires are also part of Yokohama’s line of Zenvironment tires, which are ultra high-tech commercial truck tires that last longer and are more fuel efficient.
