Wednesday, August 10, 2011 Corghi’s Co-Founder, Remo Corghi, dies at 81
 Remo Corghi, president and co-founder of Nexion Group and its subsidiary Corghi S.p.A., died July 30 at age 81.
Mr. Corghi founded Corghi Elettromeccanica with his brother Erminio in the town of Correggio in 1947. The firm specialized in TV voltage stabilizers, agricultural machinery, household appliances and mechano-textile equipment; it entered the automotive market in the late 1950s.
In 1961, Erminio Corghi invented the Artiglio tire changer. Its success contributed to the company extending its distribution network globally.
Following Erminio Corghi’s death in 1968, Remo Corghi consolidated and converted the company into Corghi S.p.A. in 1973. He was nominated as president of the firm in 1984.
Mr. Corghi along with other family members founded Nexion Group, a holding company created to strengthen business in the automotive sector and to control all acquired companies.
