Cooper’s Weather-Master WSC

The Weather-Master WSC (which stands for Winter and Snow Confidence) represents the next generation of tires designed with a unique directional design and a high silica tread compound for winter traction, according to Cooper. The WSC initially will be offered in 10 T-rated sizes, from 17- to 18-inch rim diameter sizes.

The Weather-Master WSC was developed for drivers of newer SUVs, crossover vehicles, small pickups and some passenger car applications looking for improved winter traction, the tire maker said. Applications include but are not limited to the BMW X3, Lexus RX350/450, Mazda 3 and 5, Lincoln MKS, Toyota Rav-4 Sport, Nissan Murano and Ford Explorer Ltd.

The tire has a proprietary high-silica, specialized polymer, low modulus tread compound and patented Snow Groove technology for snow acceleration and handling.

For additional traction on icy surfaces, Cooper offers a 132-stud WSC tire with a 12-row stud pattern.
