Cooper Expands Its Tupelo Plant

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has begun the $7 million US expansion of its Tupelo, Miss. tire factory. This will be a 32,000 sq. ft. addition to the already existing 1,6 million square feet it already has. Cooper held a ground braking ceremony on September 22 with officials from the Mississippi state legislature and many more VIPs. According to plant manager Pat Jodon, the extension will help Cooper produce more technologically advanced products and improve competitiveness. The project should be completed by April 2010.
