Continental Tire Canada to Sponsor BMW Driver Training

Continental Tire Canada (CTCI) announced very recently that it is continuing sponsorship of the BMW Driver Training. New in the program for 2009 is the BMW Winter Driver Training recently held at the International Club Academy Racing (ICAR) in Mirabel, Québec.

The goal of the BMW Winter Driver Training program is to teach participants the basic elements for safe, confident winter driving. Through the course, participants will learn key maneuvers such as emergency braking and avoiding, front and rear wheel skid control, 180° turns, and drifting. Participants will learn how to handle a car with and without the Dynamic Stability Control enabled. At the end of the day, drivers will test and demonstrate some of their newly acquired skills in a snow autocross.

Continental wants to permanently improve safety and comfort on the road. “Therefore we are very proud to support BMW in its new program. It matches our own corporate motto ‘Get there safely and comfortably’”, says Maiti Leinss, Marketing coordinator of Continental Tire Canada. ”We see this program as a great initiative for more safety on Canadian roads by promoting the importance of a good winter tire and a trained driver.” (SB)
