Continental Gets “Thumbs Up” from European Manufacturers



Continental has a received a series of approvals from a number of European vehicle manufacturers (both summer and winter tires) to be used as original equipment and for sale in car dealerships and the aftermarket.

Receiving the most approvals is the ContiWinterContact TS 830 P in the winter tire segment and the ContiSportContact 5 in the summer tire segment.

Approvals were awarded by AMG-Mercedes for the C63 and the GL, by BMW for the 1 and 3 series, by Land Rover for the Evoque, by Mercedes for the CLS, the B class, Viano and Vito, as well as by VW for the UP!.

“We are delighted with these approvals from leading European manufacturers, which underscore our high engineering status,” says David O’Donnell, head of Continental’s research and development for passenger and light truck tires in Hanover. “At the same time, these achievements stabilize our position as the most committed tire manufacturer and development partner for the automotive industry. After all, our product lines can be found on more than 30% of all new cars in Europe.”
