Carlisle Releases New Performance Trailer Tire

Carlisle Tire announced the launch of its new RH construction performance radial trailer tire for the towable vehicle market. The new Radial Trail RH is the latest in Carlisle's product development lineup, offering beefed up structural integrity and heat resistance meeting today's tough trailer and towable vehicle performance requirements.

Trailer tires face extreme use requirements and are often expected to perform under conditions of overloading, under-inflation, improper tire choice for intended use, exposure to the elements, heat and general neglect related to irregular use or storage. Kent Allen, Carlisle's Towable Products Marketing Manager, highlighted the importance of tire performance along with regular maintenance, "With the Radial Trail RH tire Carlisle designed a tire that scores high in heat aging endurance and load carrying requirements both in the lab and the field," and Allen added, "but the importance of checking inflation, proper storage, load limitations and regular tire maintenance cannot be emphasized enough for consumers that wish to maximize trailer tire life."

Carlisle's engineering group combined two technologies to meet tough field performance requirements for the new Radial Trail RH tires. Using HeatShield™ construction, specially formulated polymer compounds were blended to resist heat on long hauls. For trailer tires, heat build-up is the most common cause of towable tire breakdown, especially when combined with common problems of under inflation and overloading. DuraTrail™ construction incorporates robust micro-fiber reinforcement and steel belting technology to achieve increased tire structural integrity. Combining both technologies created best-in-class performance characteristics that Carlisle has now introduced to the trailer market as the Radial Trail RH. Carlisle's technical commitment and investment in specialty tire products continues in all-terrain vehicle, agricultural, construction, industrial and outdoor power equipment tires.
