Friday, March 20, 2009 Canada’s Tire Situation, as Seen by René Gélinas
 René Gélinas was one of the guest speakers at the annual AIAGrand Forum held in Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec on March 18. In his hour long presentation, Gélinas explained the tire market, starting by the biggest manufacturers and then breaking numbers down to the whole Canadian situation, including segmentation and technology. What surprised most participants were the incredible numbers such as the 1740 actual tire sizes in the industry according to the RMA. Just like Jean-Luc Sauriol in an earlier presentation, Gélinas pointed out the arrival of new technologies such as Nitrogen and TPMS. (ED)
