Bridgestone to Invest in an Iowa Farm Tire Plant

Bridgestone Americas has announced it would invest some $77 million U.S. in its Firestone Des Moines, Iowa, agricultural tire plants over the next three years. This investment will expand its capacity and upgrade manufacturing to meet the increasing demand for high-capacity radial farm tires in the U.S. as much as in Canada. The actual plant is already 65 years old and employs 1,400 people. Its actual capacity is 12,100 units a day. (ED)
