Friday, July 16, 2010 Wheels Named Among Chicago’s Best Companies to Work For
Wheels, a leader in the multi-billion-dollar fleet-leasing industry, was recently named one of “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). The award recognizes only companies with the highest quality human resources (HR) initiatives in Chicago.
To qualify for the “101 Best and Brightest,” companies are evaluated on criteria in various HR categories including communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and retention, recruitment and selection, and work-life balance. The qualitative and quantitative entry from each company is collected and analyzed by an independent research firm.
More specifically, Wheels’ many employee-focused practices include a “buddy” system for all new hires and a voluntary employee mentoring program, both of which provide guidance to employees and foster personal and professional growth. In addition, Wheels holds town hall meetings, as well as the annual State of the Company/Industry presentation, where executives present the company’s progress and new initiatives. This enables all employees to better understand the corporate goals and feel empowered to make a positive effort toward meeting those goals.
Wheels, along with the other award winners, will be honored at a celebratory luncheon by the NABR on Monday, August 2nd , at the Oak Brook Marriott.
