Monday, May 04, 2009 Trucks Still Lead the Way
According to Automotive News, light trucks are still number one in sales for the first quarter in the United States. Though sales of the Detroit Big 3 (Ford, GM, Chrysler) were down 44% while sales of Japan’s Big 3 (Toyota, Honda, Nissan) were down 34%, Ford still leads the way with its Ford F-Series pick-up (81,579 sales), followed by the Chevrolet Silverado (67,283 sales). In cars, Toyota still kept its lead with the Camry (for the fourth place) with 7,601 sales more than its own Corolla/Matrix (built in Canada).
