Friday, October 02, 2009 The Nissan Leaf EV Is Coming Our Way
Japanese car maker Nissan recently unveiled its version of the electric car called the Leaf EV. And the compact car is bound for North America sometime next year. Later on, the small EV will be produced at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee plant where the manufacturer is investing $2 million in its renovation. The American plant is expected to produce 150,000 Leaf EVs a year late in 2012. By the way, the same plant should also be responsible for producing 200,000 lithium ion batteries a year. (ED)
