The Carbon Police Car Will Be Ready in 2013

Among the many new police cars to be produced in order to replace the aging Ford Crown Victoria are the current Dodge Charger, the upcoming Chevrolet Caprice, and the 2012 Ford Police Interceptor based on a Taurus. But there is also the Carbon police car built by an independent company, the Carbon Motor Corp. The Carbon is a sedan that is uniquely designed to be a police car and it recently signed an agreement with BMW to purchase 240,000 six inline diesel engines and automatic transmissions. The first E7 Carbon sedans are scheduled to come out of the refurbished Visteon Indiana manufacturing plant in 2013. Waiting for some federal government loans, the Carbon Motor Corp. already declares some 13,000 reservations for its E7 cop car. (ED)
