Through the initiative, both Best Buy Mobile and Future Shop Cellshop associates will provide consumers with the expert advice needed to maximize the SYNC experience, from helping them pick the right mobile phone, to pairing it with their Ford vehicle and everything in between.
SYNC is a factory-installed, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system designed to change the way consumers use Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and digital media players in their vehicles. With Ford SYNC consumers can stay connected in their vehicle while keeping their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.
• SYNC will locate a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, anywhere in the vehicle and answer a call with the touch of a button on the steering wheel.
• It will convert text messages from the phone to audio and read it aloud.
• To make a call, simply touch the phone button on the steering wheel, say the name of the individual or business and SYNC will automatically connect with the number listed in the mobile phone's contact list.
• Browse the music collection on a digital media player, mobile phone or USB drive by genre, album, artist and song title using voice commands.
Ford has also taken the SYNC technology one step further with the addition of 911 Assist™. Now, in the event of a collision that causes the airbags to deploy, SYNC puts the occupant directly in touch with a 911 operator – all hands free.
