Subaru Canada welcomes a new president

Mr. Ikuo Mori, chairman and CEO of Fuji Heavy Industries, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Shiro Ohta as president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI). Mr. Ohta succeeds to Mr. Katsuhiro Yokoyama, who held this position of the utmost importance for SCI since 2005.

Mr. Ohta is already familiar with SCI since has served as executive coordinator of field operations and assistant to the CEO at the Canadian headquarters, between 1995 and 1998. Since then, he has acquired considerable experience in regards to Subaru worldwide’s operations.

Mr. Ohta joined the parent company of Subaru in 1986, immediately after obtaining his degree. Until recently, he was General Manager of Marketing and Sales for North America at FHI. His extensive experience in sales and marketing comes from the many senior positions he held within the sales and marketing divisions at FHI Africa and the Middle East, Oceania and Australia, and Europe. He also worked briefly at the dealership level, which allowed him to gain a thorough knowledge of sales on the front lines.
