The leading Canadian automotive business information source is pursuing its expansion and diversification into e-communications.
Montreal, January 8, 2009 – Publications Rousseau, in spite of the current economic downturn, has decided to pursue its expansion last December with the launch of the B2B Website autosphere.ca, the Canadian Automotive Busisness Portal, and the appointment, effective immediately, of a new senior leader responsible for ecommunications.
Mr. Alain P. Gariépy joins Publications Rousseau as its new Vicepresident, E-communications and Strategic initiatives. Mr. Gariépy boasts a solid 25-year track record in marketing and business development. He has held senior executive positions with reputable organizations such as General Electric and operated his own communication and publishing firms. He brings to Publications Rousseau a wealth of experience in delivery systems or media – from newspapers and magazines to the Internet. Incidentally, he lead from the outside Publications Rousseau’s efforts to develop autosphere.ca, a unique Canadian business portal. He is a graduate of Montreal’s École des HEC.
In collaboration with Publications Rousseau’s Montreal and Toronto sales teams, Mr. Gariépy will focus on autosphere.ca portal’s commercial development, such as promoting commercial opportunities stemming from banners, sponsorships and video clips offered on the site. His responsibilities will also include ‘e-communications’ which offer numerous advertising and promotional opportunities to the automotive and nonautomotive sectors, among them the e-casting of promotional e-mails, appointments, new products and services, company profiles and newsletters to specialized market niches.
Strategic initiatives for 2009 will include penetration of the fleet segment, strategic clientele development – i.e. national trade associations and multisegment national accounts, Publications Rousseau’s 15th anniversary and new product strategic development with the possible addition of an ‘executives’ segment.
“In 2008, Publications Rousseau, motivated by constant innovation and leadership in its field, adopted a diversification strategy for its media platforms which today include the Internet, with autosphere.ca, and e-communications,” says Rémy L. Rousseau, President, Publisher, and Founder. He continues, “At the dawn of the company’s 15th anniversary in 2009, it is our gift to the Canadian automotive industry in transition.”
