News About GM’s Chevy Malibu Hybrids

GM’s actual Chevrolet Malibu is available with Light Hybrid technology. Light Hybrid means the car’s engine cuts when the vehicle stops (at red lights, for instance) and fires back to life when the driver releases the brake pedal. But the auto manufacturer is working on a full two-mode hybrid powertrain for the upcoming year. However, consumers are more attracted to two-mode hybrids and Light Hybrids are not selling as fast. So, since it has an large inventory of such Malibu Hybrids, Chevrolet has suspended retail production of the 2010 Malibu Hybrid while concentrating on the production of fleet Malibu Hybrids.
