New GM Electric Car – Now Being Tested in Korea

In just a few days, General Motors will embark on another Chevrolet Cruze test program in Korea. But this time, the program is switching it up with the all new, totally electric Cruze EV.

This project will showcase the results of the very successful partnership in developing electric vehicles between GM Daewoo, LG Chem and LG Electronics.

The Cruze EV is equipped with a 31-kWh battery, generating maximum power of 150 kW.  According to LG Chem’s tests, this electric car can now cover a range of 160 km. Better yet, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds as well as reaching a maximum speed of 165 km/h.

Now being tested in Korea, the Cruze EV still awaits a worldwide launch date. This electric car features essentially the same frame and body design as its non-electric counterpart.
