Mitsubishi appoints new Vice President



Kenji Toh, an experienced senior executive and prominent automotive professional with nearly 20 years of leadership roles with Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC), has been appointed Vice President, of Sales/Marketing & Corporate Planning for Mitsubishi Motor Sales Of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN).  Effective July 15, he will report directly to MMSCAN President & CEO Mr. Koji Soga.

In making the announcement, Mr. Soga said that MMSCAN selected Mr. Toh to replace outgoing Vice President, Tomoki Yanagawa, who has spent the last six years in Canada and is returning to MMC.  During his tenure Mr. Yanagawa was instrumental in doubling MMSCAN’s sales growth, the successful launch of the Mitsubishi RVR (the company’s vital, third-pillar vehicle), and in achieving extensive milestones, such as bringing the all-electric i-MiEV to Canadian dealerships (scheduled to go on sale in Canada later this year.

“Kenji Toh’s extensive experience and superb track record are the credentials that we looked for in filling this strategic position and continuing the excellent progress Yanagawa has achieved,” said Mr. Soga.  “Kenji knows the business from all sides.  As a seasoned corporate executive and a professional with extensive Mitsubishi experience, he has the breadth of knowledge and experience that are vital to Mitsubishi’s continued growth strategy in Canada.”

Mr. Toh said his decision to come to Canada centred on a number of key factors, including the company’s recent successes and new opportunities in the Canadian market. “I believe Mitsubishi has the right products for these times and I am really looking forward to new challenges, growth and opportunities here in Canada”, said  Mr. Toh.

Mr. Toh comes to Canada from MMC’s Europe Department and has held positions with Mitsubishi Motors Europe in the Netherlands , alsoworking with MMC’s North America Department.
