Mercedes-Benz Considers Natural Gas Vehicles for North America

According to Automotive News, German auto maker Mercedes-Benz plans to display one of its B-Class models running on compressed natural gas this week at the Washington Auto Show. The B-Class displayed is a production model as many countries do promote CNG in Europe and, according to Richard Kolodziej, president of Natural Gas Vehicles for America, the U.S. would miss a big opportunity if it failed to use its ample supplies of natural gas, a climate-friendly, clean-burning, and economical “fuel.” Canada is also an important NG producer in the world, providing the U.S. with 17% of its needs.
