Land Rover goes two-wheel drive

Land Rover confirmed the launch of a compact two-wheel drive model . Expected to be launched in 2011, this model will emit 130 grams less of CO2 per km, making it the most efficient and less polluting Range Rover in history.

Land Rover will be working on three main technological aspects to reduce the overall weight of their vehicles, to curb parasite losses and increase engine efficiency. Hybrid systems are also part of their ongoing development with regard to larger vehicle models. The first hybrid Land Rover (diesel-electric) will be available in 2012 and on the road in 2013.
