Is Porsche Going Hybrid?

Among all the automotive brands, who would’ve thought that German manufacturer Porsche would, one day, go green and offer a hybrid electric vehicle? Porsche will begin offering a hybrid version of its top-selling Cayenne SUV in North America by the end of 2010. Porsche expects approximately 15% of the Cayenne’s sales to be hybrids. The main engine will be a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 powerplant. Expect competitors such as Audi (Q5), BMW (X6), and Mercedes-Benz (ML) to offer their versions of a hybrid-electric SUV in the coming year. (ED)
