Hyundai’s Success in Canada, According to J.D. Power

Car sales have been increasing remarkably in Canada for Korean automaker Hyundai. How can that be explained in an economy that is not as strong as we were used to see? According to J.D. Power and Associates Canadian monthly reports, Hyundai has ranked fourth overall but was first in the non-luxury brand in its Initial Quality Study. The Hyundai Genesis was ranked the most appealing midsize premium car in J.D. Power’s 2009 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study and it was chosen as the 2009 Canadian Car of the Year by AJAC (Automotive Journalist Association of Canada). Hyundai is also attracting customers from older American brands such as Ford, Chevy, and Pontiac and even Japanese brands as fourth place Honda. Hyundai Elantra sales were up 122% for the first 7 months of the year. (ED)
