Hyundai Is Preparing a Replacement for the Tiburon

Don’t expect major changes to Hyundai’s actual Tiburon, at least not before 2011 when a new smaller coupe will replace it. Even the name Tiburon could very well be dropped. For the moment being, Hyundai is concentrating its efforts on the new Genesis Coupe. When the replacement for the Tiburon comes along, it should ride on a front-wheel drive Accent or Elantra platform and it will be powered by a 1.6-litre four cylinder engine. According to specialized publications, the new car’s styling will have a lot in common with the Veloster concept car and it will be a fuel efficient sporty four-passenger coupe. (ED)
