Happy Hit-and-Run

Hyundai Canada presented a Toronto man with the keys to a brand new 2009 Elantra Touring after his 2004 Elantra was written off during a parking mishap. The incident was captured on security cameras and popularized on YouTube where an SUV is seen jumping a curb, rolling up onto the Elantra, stopping on the roof, and then backing off. The driver left the scene of the incident and was later apprehended by police.

The surprised recipient of Hyundai’s generosity, Todd Jamison, was almost speechless when Hyundai Canada handed him the keys to his brand new 2009 Elantra Touring. “This was an opportunity to turn an unfortunate situation into something positive,” says Barb Pitblado, manager, public relations, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. (JK)
