Haltec Keeps an Electronic Eye on Tires

Keeping track of your fleet’s tire inspection sheets on paper is a thing of the past with Haltec Corporation’s Tyre Check. Developed in Ireland – hence the spelling – the Tyre Check Management System uses Web-based software and inspection data paired with Bluetooth to maintain your data and determine what it’s trying to tell you.

The system, which Haltec leases to fleets, includes a Smartphone and Bluetooth-enabled inspection hardware. When each tire is measured for pressure and tread depth, the data is immediately synchronized with the software’s reporting features.

Each time the tire is inspected with the equipment, the readings automatically enter into the system where they are available for use. The fleet manager can then customize the software to deliver the data required, which can include tread wear patterns, tire brand comparisons and pressure loss, and potentially alert you to problems with the vehicle.

The system leases for less than $500 per month, and Haltec says it can pay for itself if the data allows for even one or two tires to be salvaged. For more information, visit www.Haltec.com.
