GM to Increase Truck Production

As funny as it may seem, General Motors is about to boost its production of some light trucks in March. The information comes from the UAW Local 598 and Local 276 Web sites. Most trucks involved in the process would be Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra heavy-duty crew cab pickups and many big SUVs like Tahoe and Yukon, mostly with hybrid configuration. The explanation? As of January 1, GM had a 90-day supply of light trucks, down from a 122-day supply on December 1. The manufacturer expects an increase in demand. (ED)
