GM Canada to Keep the Vibe on the Market

While GM is phasing out its entire Pontiac line in the United States, its Canadian division will be keeping the very popular Vibe compact SUV on the local market, at least for a while. The production of the 2010 Vibe began last March at the New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI) plant operated jointly by GM and Toyota in Fremont, California. The Vibe is the companion vehicle to the Toyota Matrix built in Canada. Though no replacement for Vibe production has been determined, GM says it is still having discussions with Toyota about future production at NUMMI. (ED)
