GM Canada to Add a Second Shift at Its Oshawa Car Plant

Good news for GM Canada—the manufacturer will have to add a second shift at its Oshawa car plant to support the new Camaro Convertible and Buick Regal models. Indeed, as its state-of-the-art Flexible Manufacturing Line prepares for the launch of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible and the all-new Buick Regal, it will have to add a second shift beginning the fourth quarter of 2010. The implementation of this second shift will result in the recall of some 700 employees. Actually, the same plant is so busy producing the Camaro coupe, it has been working overtime on Saturdays!
