GM Canada Increases Production to Meet Rising Demand

GM Canada is increasing production at its assembly plants in response to increased consumer demand for new GM vehicles. This is in response to the strong demand for the new Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, and the GMC Terrain.

GM is reinstating the third shift at CAMI, in Ingersoll, beginning in October and results in the recall of 350 CAMI team members. They have also advised employees that overtime for the new Camaro at the Oshawa flex line will continue at least through the end of October.

The increased production for GM’s Canadian plants is due to increased demand in Canada and the U.S. and is a demonstration of the customer acceptance of the Equinox and Camaro. (SB)
