GM Adds 700 Jobs to its Oshawa Plant

The Oshawa Assembly Plant just added 700 employees to support a second shift in preparation for the 2011 launch of the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible and the all-new Buick Regal. Start of production for the Camaro Convertible is slated for January, while the Buick Regal is planned in early spring.

This new shift comes just weeks after the addition of a third shift to support increased production for the Chevrolet Equinox. The two new shifts have secured over 1300 jobs for the Oshawa plant.

The Chevrolet Camaro, just named the "hottest car" at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, will add even more sizzle with the introduction of the 2011 Camaro convertible and will hit the market in February 2011. Recently awarded AJAC's Best New Family Car over $30,000, the all-new 2011 Buick Regal is a modern performance sedan to rival the best premium midsize sport sedans.
