Ford Wants to Prove Its Economical V6

In order to prove the new 305-hp V6 that powers its all-new 2011 Mustang, Ford has the intention of driving the car for 1,000 laps at the NASCAR 0.533-mile Bristol Motor Speedway on a single tank of gas. Ford claims an EPA-rated fuel economy of 19 mpg (US) in the city, 31 mpg (US) on the highway with a six-speed automatic transmission. The challenge will take place on June 23 and fans can guess the correct number of laps the car will achieve on one tank of gas at www.Mustang1000LapChallenge.com. The prize is, as you might imagine, a 2011 Ford Mustang V6! (ED)
