Ford Unveils Its Prototype Interceptor Police Car

Ford has more than 70% of the police cruiser market in North America. Its venerable Crown Victoria Interceptor is the main vehicle used for that purpose, but the Crown Vic will be phased out soon. To replace it, Ford has designed a new Interceptor around its new Taurus. The manufacturer unveiled the first prototype of a production version in Las Vegas a few days ago. According to the presentation, the 2012 Police Interceptor will be available with the base 3.5-litre V6 and front- or all-wheel drive, or the much more powerful EcoBoost V6 with all-wheel drive.
